An exciting milestone in the future of British cruising has been marked as construction begins for our next Excel class ship - Arvia.
The first piece of steel has been cut during a virtual ceremony at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
Arvia is scheduled to join the P&O Cruises fleet in December 2022.

Was it early to give the ship a name before construction started? I thought it was normal to kick off with a yard number before the big naming ceremony at a later date.

Watched a recorded renovation programme yesterday about the Delorean.
It seems they built very few, approx 9,000 maybe, but had spare parts for ten times the number assembled before they went broke. All of the parts and most of the cars are presently in the USA and the cars sell for half the price they do in the UK or the Euro-zone.
