Following the announcement from the UK Government yesterday, P&O Cruises will continue to take guidance on the evolving framework of protocols for cruising to protect the health and wellbeing of guests, crew and the communities we visit.

Or put another way - we aint changing nothing.
Interesting reading the comments on FB about this post, there are, as you would probably expect, two camps - one totally opposed to mask wearing and that other adamant that it stays. Did not read all the replies but it seemed to be all about masks!

I’ve had an email today from P&O about my Easter cruise with the most up to date requirements for vaccinations for 12 to 17 and 5 to 11 age groups. My youngest granddaughter (14) has now had both her vaccines so is okay - we will require a test at the port and as I am travelling down by coach I’ll need to have a negative test result to be able get on the coach.

Clear as mud.
Our two friends that are booked to go on our July cruise with us are now indicating that they are leaning towards cancelling because of the uncertainty of being off loaded should one of them pick up Covid. We are now thinking the same. More up to date clarification is needed.

We have until July to think about our October fly cruise out of Malta but like you I think we will postpone.Stephen wrote: 23 Feb 2022, 07:21Clear as mud.

If future cruising requires wearing a mask on board all the time then I'm afraid cruising is over for us.

As I understand it the current requirement on P&O is that you wear a mask whilst moving around indoors - outside does not require mask wearing, nor does sitting down indoors and obviously not when in your cabin

The current P&O policy, as sent to us last week, states.allatc wrote: 23 Feb 2022, 09:08We have until July to think about our October fly cruise out of Malta but like you I think we will postpone.

Face – mask wearing isn’t needed when you’re out on deck, exercising or seated in most areas around the ship. We just ask you to wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth (with no exemptions) in specific areas including the terminal, when moving around indoors on board and when seated in the theatre. And we’d always recommend you regularly clean your masks and choose a good quality, ideally medical grade, standard. Please note that visors and face shields aren’t accepted as a substitute for a face mask.
So it definitely isn't all the time, just when up and about,. However, given Johnsons recent changes I suspect that there may be further relaxation of the onboard rules between now and your holiday.

I read somewhere, cannot find it again, that the current P&O protocols are in place until 30th April - so I am not expecting any changes until thenKendhni wrote: 23 Feb 2022, 13:39I suspect that there may be further relaxation of the onboard rules between now and your holiday.

I haven't read that myself, but do not doubt you.david63 wrote: 23 Feb 2022, 13:43I read somewhere, cannot find it again, that the current P&O protocols are in place until 30th April - so I am not expecting any changes until thenKendhni wrote: 23 Feb 2022, 13:39I suspect that there may be further relaxation of the onboard rules between now and your holiday.
I believe allatc isn't going until October though (I should have been more explicit).
