We've reached an extra special Arvia milestone as we celebrate her float out from the covered shipyard to the outside harbour!

As Arvia’s maiden voyage on 9 December 2022 gets closer and closer, we can’t wait to see the build continue. Watch this space for more updates soon! 🚢

Sorry, Ken, it's a lot of things, but beautiful it is not. IMHO.

Apparently they're teaching the Captains to say Hi De Hi in their announcements 😅😅

I am in agreement with Ken on this, looking forward to trying out all the new eateries that she will have and maybe a round or 2 on the crazy golf.

We were ready to hate Iona and quickly fell in love with her. Arvia definitely on our wish list.

I expect we’ll give her a go one day.

I wonder if ship visits will ever return. Mind you it would probably take two or three to get round Arvia.

We’re booked.
Willing to give it a go with a totally open mind.
If either of us don’t like it much for any reason, we simply won’t book again.
We always go on holiday with the sole intention of having a good time so can’t see why this ship should be any different.

Apart from the fact that the new biggies don't look like ships one of the main things that puts me off trying them is the fact that I have some walking difficulties and the thought of the distances I would have to walk on board, let alone when I was getting off to go on a trip, all the walking on the dockside before even getting to a coach really makes it a no no for me. Yes if I travel with someone I could always use a wheelchair but wouldn't want to do that on my own - obviously it would have to be an electric one in that case! Also of course some of the attractions on the new ships aimed at families wouldn't be of interest to me.

One thing that occurred to me is that for World Cruises P&O are still using Aurora and Arcadia. I seem to remember that there was a time when they advertised Azura as doing a World Cruise but they had to withdraw it, I assume because not enough passengers wanted to do it on a ship like Azura. Maybe P&O will stop doing Worlds, who knows.

We're booked on her and likewise going with an open mind.
There's a distinct push to appeal to a younger clientele but as we all know time waits for no man and one day that younger clientele will be the older generation no longer interested in what P&O are offering. I presume P&O will be happy to lose them to cruise lines offering a more sedate experience.
I'm not sure either that the younger generation will necessarily become cruise afficionados as there will be plenty of other experiences they will want to try out.
I was taught to be cautious

They are a business like any other, and as long as they get body's in beds that's all that counts. What age that may be I feel will be irrelevant.
