Is this in case the Captain forgets where he's going?

Last time I looked - more than I would be prepared to pay for something that I don't want/need

Seeing that David has allowed his forum to be used as a sales platform can I just mention that I sell free-range eggs, home spiced pickled onions and a few boxes of out of date chocolates.

Despite all the derogatory comments I had a look at these Cruise Maps. There was one special cruise that I did with John, back in 2018, a Circumnavigation of South America, Southampton to Southampton, 65 nights. John had always wanted to visit South America, in particular Chile, I think for the wine! I am so pleased he was able to do that cruise and we enjoyed every minute of it. So I enquired about the map of that cruise. It turned out to be the sort of thing that had John still been here, I would have bought for his birthday or Christmas. I had various conversations with the makers and they offered to adapt the map and make it as I wanted. They put a label next to Funchal as that's where we were on our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. They also altered the names of the stops in the Caribbean. They had named each port rather than each island. I thought that friends and family wouldn't know which of these islands was, so instead of Antigua, it said St. John's. I asked if the names of the islands could be substituted and this was agreed. I opted for a black frame. Anyway it arrived today, all beautifully packaged and for me it's a memory of a wonderful trip. I've been altering my smallest bedroom into an office so when my youngest daughter visits she can use the office when she stays overnight. She works from home on several days most weeks so she can continue to work. It's being set up as a proper office so she has all the computer set up she needs. I think my map will go well in there. I don't think I'd have opted to order one of these maps for a 'ordinary' annual cruise but for this special cruise it was worth it.

Hi Carole, I think in that situation having one of the maps ,something which brings back good memories you had with John , is well worth it. I hope it continues to remind you of the good times for a long while to come.
For just a normal cruise, it would have very little meaning.
Don't worry, be happy

Thanks Ray, I'm sure it will. I agree for any normal cruise, like a two week cruise to wherever it's not quite the same.
