Not sure i would risk getting off the ship just in case Noro kicked in. Nothing worse than being taken short.

Not a good look though in the middle of the street, unless you have a dog head mask to put on

Ambition Update:
In the interests of guest comfort and crew wellbeing, Ambition will remain in Bordeaux overnight before continuing her sailing on a revised itinerary from tomorrow, Friday 15 May 2026. This will allow the ship to avoid forecast unsettled weather conditions in the Bay of Biscay this evening which would be less than ideal for guests and crew recovering from gastrointestinal illness while also providing valuable additional time for crew who have worked exceptionally hard in challenging circumstances over recent days. The scheduled arrival into El Ferrol on 16 May 2026 will now be at 1030. The ship will depart at 2000 so that guests are able to spend a full day in the port city with a full programme of excursions and tours offered.
Throughout this period, the health, safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew has remained our highest priority. Enhanced sanitation measures, medical monitoring and isolation procedures remain in place across the ship in accordance with EU SHIPSHAN public health protocols. Medical consultations relating to GII continue to be provided free of charge.
We would like to thank guests and crew for their patience, understanding and cooperation while precautionary health and safety measures remain in place.

Re: Abassador Ambition May 2026
Day 6 = 14th May - Bordeaux
Woke this moring to find that yesterday's sun had given way to the rain.
Normal service has resumed in that we can now go ashore so that is what we did after having had breakfast. Life is so predictable - just as we got off the ship the rain started and as there was no shelter we got wet but with stiff upper lip we carried on having an explore of Bordeaux. Have to say that whilst there is not that much to see in the towm it is an interesting place to walk around and is easy to navigate (this time we did find shops - not that we wanted anything). As the weather forecast was not particularly good for the afternoon we decided after a couple of hours to head back to the ship. If only we had set off back 15 minutes sooner we would not have got drowned in the rain.
After having lunch we retired to the cabin for the rest of the afternoon. About 15:00 we get an announcement from the Captain saying that we will be staing in Bordeaux overnight to give the medical team a break and that the BoB is playing at being the BoB (does;t bode well for tomorrow's sea day.
One thing that has changed today is that all the cabin stewards are wearing face masks - not sure why as I was under the impression that Norovirus was not air borne, and no other crew members are wearing masks,
One thing about this ship is that it is one of those ships that make your ankles swell - just wish somebody knew why this happens.
Right - I have now got to get some rest as tomorrow is a sea day and somebody who shall remain nameless volunteered me for one of the oars!!!

Re: Abassador Ambition May 2026
He will have to row a bit harder to find somewhere to port.
David is certainly having a most unusual cruise. I should think he's met up with foxy and is having a P☆ss up in the bar by now.
Seems the port of El Farrol has left it a bit late to inform Ambition of building work.
Ambition Update:
Unfortunately, we have now been informed by the port of El Ferrol that construction works in the port will prevent Ambitions planned call on Saturday 16th May. We have discussed the issue with the port authority at length, but they have confirmed that their construction works will not allow Ambition to berth. As an alternative, we are investigating either an early arrival in Gijon, or possibly a call at La Coruna on Saturday 16th. These enquiries have not yet been confirmed by the ports, and we will keep guests updated as soon as we know more.
We are extremely sorry for any disappointment that this may cause, but the matter has been taken out of our hands despite our very best efforts.

So David was correct in his suspicions that Foxy brought the ship down with the Pestilence.

That’s a real shame because having chatted to foxy I know how scrupulous they are with their hygiene standards wherever they are on the ship.
I sincerely hope Mr’s Foxy gets through this as quickly as possible.

Day 7 - At sea
Woke this morning tom find the it hsd been rsining which did not bode well fo thr rest of thr dsy - how wri=ong was that? Most of thr day was warm with plenty of sun.
OK so we have to have a downside. Mid morning the Captain comes on and immediately you know that it is not goimh to be good nres, and we were not disappointed Our port of call tomorrow at El Ferrol .has been cancelled due to construction work. Now I am not one to say that the Captain is telling porkies but I find it a bit stange that only yesterday our arrival time had been pushed back two hours. Add to this that we overnighted in Bordeaux and that when I added this cruise to The Cruise Globe then El Farrol was never listed as a port of call. Now I am not an expert on how ports work but I don't believe that construction work is suddenly started without any advance warning!
This afternoon we went to a talk by Ian Gunn about prisons - he was an ex prison governor. All we really learnt was that it costs £54,000 a year to keep somebody in prison and that all the problems in prisons, such as drugs, cannot be controlled.
Later on the Captain came on to say that El Farrol has now been replaced with La Coruna - Oh joy of joys, been there too often to get excited about it!
back to today. Tonight's dress code was "smart" which is defined in Ambassodor's literature for men as "suit or jscket and trousers" - was this adheared to? No chance,
That's all for today.
