Hopefully I have the title right but I guess Smurfie will change it for me if necessary.

Anyways, my question is:

Ken and a few others make references to different sites and instead of putting the web address in the format of the topic they put LINK So how do they do this.... :?: I was going to put link in a colour but that turned out a bit weird... :crazy:

Answers on a postcard please or just on here....

Many thanks.... ;)

When posting using the full posting editor you have the option of using tags - these are the buttons at the top of the posting box. One of these is the URL tag. If you hover with your mouse over that it will show you the format but basically it is:

Code: Select all

[url=http://www.my site.com]here is the link[/url]
which will produce [url=http://www.my%20site.com]here is the link[/url]

JS, a quick tip that allows you to find out how somethings have been done.
If you see a post and wonder how they did something then click on the 'quote' button. That will pop the post into a new input box and display the 'tags' (i.e. the commands in 'square brackets') that were used.

You're not giving away all our secrets are you? :lol: :lol:

Seriously this is one example of the value of mods and administrators posting on the site and it's good that advice such as this can be offered. We look forward to your first link. If you want to try it out in the Test section first by all means do so. We can delete it for you then if you let us know. Good luck!!
