CheetahMail

Unread post by qbman1 »

Just received this e-mail from P&O with the heading "CheetahMail Training- Test email"

Dear Mr
This is a test message ready for the CheetahMail training!

Anyone else had one? Looks like P&O might be getting to grips with their IT at last ?!

More like outsourcing in my opinion.

Well, at least that is a step forward since they seem totally incapable of getting it right themselves lately !

Looks like you're right. Seems it's no more than a Marketing Tool

Not sure that I would agree with that statement - look what happened when they outsourced the forum update

It would appear that P&O are moving to outsource their emailing marketing emails - basically you will not notice any difference

I don't quite know why they had to send everyone in their address book a "test" e-mail with no other explanation. It seems to be causing considerable confusion and could well end up being counter-productive

I got quite excited when I got mine and checked the email address in case it was malware. When I saw it was from reservations I wondered if they were contacting me to say I had won their competition which I have entered every time I go onto their site to check Getaway prices. No such luck!! I expect everybody does the same.

I had always wondered who won the £100 OBC for filling in the questionnaire at the end of the cruise. On our last cruise it was somebody on our dining table which was really lovely. (I was hoping he might buy us all a drink to celebrate but he was a Yorkshireman!!!  )

I didn't think I'd had one and was just getting ready to pen a complaint ( how very dare they not send one ) but just checked my e-mails and there's one sitting there

Maybe they're just testing ready for sending out invitations to the naming ceremony of the new ship.

I read somewhere (P&O Facebook page) that it was only supposed to go out to staff. How true I know not.

There's an apology on Facebook, says it was sent in error.

I see we have now had an apology email with the usual excuse of trying to work out how it happened. It's obvious why it happened - somebody either pressed the wrong button or set up the mailing list incorrectly.

Why does the expression "if you pay peanuts you get monkeys working for you" keep coming to mind :?:

Don't be harsh on them, chap, they are just trying to keep down the cost of your next cruise !

Got both e mails. Apology came at 14.53 whilst I was still trying to understand the first one.

Ditto to the emails, but in our case we booked our cruise on Monday, and yesterday noticed the price had gone up by £100pp. Looks like we got in just in time.
