It must be a possibility, when did Radio 2 start do you know ?

Presumably 1969 when Radio 1 started.

I remember listening to Radio 2 from the early 70s and to the Light Programme when we were children but the period in between is a bit of a blur ' listening to a radio ' wise

I was a big fan of the pirates. When most of those were closed in 1967 by the Marine Offences Act the BBC launched Radio 1 to bridge the gap the pirates had identified and that became my listening choice for a while. And of course the Light Programme became R2, Third Programme became R3 and the Home Service became R4. At the same time they launched their first Local Radio stations. Little did I know that therein would lie the biggest chunk of my working life!
