I don't believe he was worried about getting wet yesterday. I think Macron was the trouble but the PR department wouldn't be wanting to be saying that.

Re: Current Affairs
I was watching the service at the Cenotaph yesterday and when I saw Mr. Corbyn I said then that there was going to be strong comments on his appearance. Surely he must have known that he would be surrounded by people in black overcoats. I don't think I saw any man there similarly dressed. People were gathered to show respect for those who gave their lives to the country - but then maybe he doesn't understand the meaning of the word 'respect'. Imagine him appearing like that to lay a wreath if he, God forbid, was Prime Minister - would he still think it was suitable? Probably!

Indeed ….
As I implied earlier he looked a real slob, could only assume that as an alleged pacifist he dressed for a ' Ban the Bomb ' TV interview

I think he looked marginally better than Michael Foot in his donkey jacket at the Cenotaph!Manoverboard wrote: 12 Nov 2018, 10:51Indeed ….

Re: Current Affairs
Surely a Pacifict, alleged or not, should not be in a position to be PM as there would be times when a decision to commit Troops would have to be made.
If Britain declared itself Nuetral then maybe but as we still have a commenwealth that would never happen.

I was reading about that earlier this morning and it seems that it wasn't a Donkey Jacket at all but MF made it look like one because he hadn't done it up properly, the report also said that his wife had purchased said item to make him look smarter ….Jack Staff wrote: 12 Nov 2018, 12:09I think he looked marginally better than Michael Foot in his donkey jacket at the Cenotaph!Manoverboard wrote: 12 Nov 2018, 10:51Indeed ….

You never know what the Queen is thinking but as they all trooped in the camera panned in on her. She certainly looked as though she was giving somebody the evil eye. She did not look pleased at all.

Re: Current Affairs
I was reminded yesterday that he wore a perfectly acceptable black overcoat at the Cenotaph last year so why the decision to wear an anorak this year - any ideas?

You are all awful to poor Jeremy, he had been saving for months for that coat, just waiting for it to be on special offer at Aldi.

Re: Current Affairs
Did you lot also note that everybody else was holding their wreath in the same elevated and dignified position whereas JC's was at least a foot lower … I did wonder at the time if this was because he was having to hold his trousers up given the number of deep creases of same around his ankles.

Anyone else see the masterclass in debating on QT last night by JRM? Whilst I don't agree with everything he says he can certainly debate well - pity there are not more in Parliament with those skills, far better than the shouting and histrionics that we see far too much of.

Re: Current Affairs
While my political leanings are miles away from Rees Mogg I have to confess that he is very good and controlled in debate. My two favourites at the moment are Jess Phillips and Lisa Tandy.

He certainly has a relaxed approach in putting his points across but all a bit monotone for my liking.

Re: Current Affairs
It’s the old trap - someone speaks in a posh voice and in modulated tones, is deemed ‘good at debating’.
