Credit Card Charges to be Discontinued

I would advise that it may be a good plan to book a Celebrity ( RCI ? ) cruise with a TA and to let them complete the farcical booking procedures ... downside is that most TAs presently charge 'n' % when using Credit Cards.

'You no rissen', booking any RCI group cruise you don't pay for using a credit card, if perchance your TA tries it on, refer them to me.

Indeed I will ... I recall that Hays Travel ( ex Bath Travel ) charged me but I don't intend to root through the paperwork to confirm or otherwise.

Reading the BBC piece, looks like the surcharge practice will be abolished in January. We're on Fred in March, so all being well we should be able to register a credit card like we normally do. Will double check nearer the time
