A little tip for you Happydays.

You may already have these fitted. If not, when the plumber comes to fix the leak get him to fit two shut off valves. One on the cold and one on the hot feed pipes. That way if you have any future problems with the tap you can at least isolate the hot and cold water supplies. They cost very little, and as the plumber is probably going to have to isolate the water supply anyway to carry out the repair it makes sense to get him to fit the valves at the same time.
