You're right, but according to good old Wiki it has the same amount of coffee but less milk so it's stronger. Like the Irish say it's black coffee with milk.

Whatever happened to Camp?

Oh dear....

While we're having dinner during the Alpha course, they play music in the background.

During our last Alpha course, the week after David Bowie died, they played his music. The week after Glen Frey died, they played Eagles music.. Before that, some other entertainer died and their music was played the following week.

Alpha restarts next week....

I once went to a wedding where "Mr Disco" (he had a blazer and tie on) played a whole side of a SingalongaMax album during the meal. And when it finished he turned it over and played the other side.

I'm not aware that he was a crooner.

I did fill his E-type up with 5* many years ago.

He's had some horrendous songs out - remember "Chop Chop" ?!

He started off in Bournemouth with a group called Tony Blackburn and the Rovers (ouch !) with my "mate" Al Stewart on lead guitar.

No I don't remember that at all. I knew he was from around that area 'cos I lived in Bournemouth at the time, as did Anita Harris and Mantovani.

He of "year of the cat"? I didn't know he was from round there as well.

Merv may not know it - even though DJs have to play some terrible tracks, we didn't know all of them. The worst I remember from '76 was some South African guy singing about a family trip to a zoo, and the chorus went on about "pipsi khala, ginger beah an kinida droi" (Pepsi Cola, ginger beer and Canada Dry). I can still hear it now.... And don't get me started on "save your kisses for me" - I had to play that every alternate record on our version of "family favourites", there were so many requests for it.

Yep, Year of the Cat is probably his best-known. He was born in Glasgow but his mother was widowed and they moved to Wimborne in the early fifties
