Sorry - if I ever get on Mastermind "The Life and Times of Al Stewart" would be my specialist subject !!Silver_Shiney wrote:qbman1 wrote:Yep, Year of the Cat is probably his best-known. Merv may not know it - even though DJs have to play some terrible tracks, we didn't know all of them. The worst I remember from '76 was some South African guy singing about a family trip to a zoo, and the chorus went on about "pipsi khala, ginger beah an kinida droi" (Pepsi Cola, ginger beer and Canada Dry). I can still hear it now....And don't get me started on "save your kisses for me" - I had to play that every alternate record on our version of "family favourites", there were so many requests for it.
Well, you learn something new every day!

Well, that's nice. Hope you have some decent thermals for your trip to 'Arrogate this weekend or you won't be going anywhere - hypothermia can be very nasty !

Shiney one, are you inferring there is some sort of correlation between your Alpha courses and the regular demise of pop stars?Silver_Shiney wrote:qbman1 wrote:If I hear one more Prince song today there will be a tantrum !
Oh dear....
While we're having dinner during the Alpha course, they play music in the background.
During our last Alpha course, the week after David Bowie died, they played his music. The week after Glen Frey died, they played Eagles music.. Before that, some other entertainer died and their music was played the following week.
Alpha restarts next week....

He won't know what to do with all that luxury. Though come to think of it Titanic had cabins with running water.qbman1 wrote:I believe they have found him a cabin with running water, electric light and the drains workMervyn and Trish wrote:What, to a different ship?Dark Knight wrote:My cruise tickets have arrived , along with a very nice upgrade

You don't need to run, just blend into the crowd. I know that's right 'cos I have seen Day of the Jackal !!
