I'm getting some very good ideas for tracks for tomorrow's programme. Should be a cracker.

And BTW in my BBC time Anita Harris kissed me. She talks about it till this day.

So, Sir Merv, what wacky tracks did you play yesterday?

Wackiest we managed was a new version of The Sound of Silence by a US rock band called Disturbed. Oh and a quick dollop of pan pipes. An eclectic show. :sarcasm:

So much for the ideas we all gave you yesterday :(

How about playing David Frost's soliloque on the Unknown Soldier and, at the end, when the anonymous warrior is about to identify himself, play Fire by Arthur Brown?

Kenny Everett's jingles are sadly missed.

That's in the same vein as Roaring Jelly's "Poor little turkey", a neglected Christmas classic

"Oh yes please!"

"Please try glass A"

"Thank you" glug glug glug "Mmm, delicious!"

"Now try glass B"

"Thank you" glug glu choke gasp choke... thump

"So there you have it, folks, glass B contained poison"

This thread has totally lost its raison d'etre ( see I can be a good European sometimes), so to put it back on track might I just say that as ever you find me, your glorious leader, way out in front as usual.

Towny, you may be ahead of the rest of the pack but you're miles behind your true leaders

There seems to be quite a bit of noise from the back of the queue today, please show some respect for your leader while I try to multi task whilst out front.
