Feed him onions, carrots and white wine, and he'll be oven-ready after a quick shave!

We've got 2.30 boarding. Question is do I conform and turn up at 2.30 and demand compo if I'm not on by 2.45, or do I join everyone else and arrive at 11.30?

I've got 2.30 boarding and as I am travelling down by coach don't anticipate arriving much before 2 pm but I understood that as a Baltic I can board from 1 pm regardless of time on ticket - Cubie has just done this hasn't he - how did he get on?

We're still on Mediterranean till next year so we'll see how the peasants are treated under the new rules.

P.s. I believe Cubie got on the same as everyone else. Up the gangplank! :sarcasm:

Piece of cake, Blod, my fellow Baltic pal. The last twice, we pitched up at about 1:15, despite having a stated time of 3pm, just mentioned the word "Baltic" and were whisked straight to the front of the check-in queue. Both times we were in our cabin within less than half an hour of arriving at the terminal and on the last occasion our luggage even beat us there !

Going by the other "ordinary" people we have spoken to, they seem to be pretty much adhering to the stated times so unless you want to sit in the embarkation hall for 3 hours, I would hit the pub until about 2 !

That's what I usually do but haven't travelled from Southampton since new rules brought in so really no change then

Yes, it is pretty much the same for us important types. I think the main change is that whereas they just shoved everyone through in the past, regardless of time, they are now trying to keep to the stated check-in times as much as possible and only push people through early if there is a lull in proceedings at the check-in desks

Good news and as it should be. We're at the Hilton the night before and don't have to check out till 12. Quite happy to sit in the lounge there and have a coffee until 1.30ish and then amble down. By the time we've got to the port and off loaded the car we should be hitting the terminal entrance at about the right time. It was very frustrating in the past when we did likewise and found ourselves at the back of a queue of early arrivers.

I look forward to hearing how the embarkation goes Merv, we don't have our boarding time yet for our Aug Britannia cruise but am hoping for something earlier than 3:30. It really is nice to have priority boarding on our upcoming Eclipse cruise, so we can book in anytime between 11:00 and 3:00, and Cubie we expect to be on board, enjoying our free drinks package, within 15-20 mins of parking the car.

Unless they move the goalposts again we'll have priority embarkation after our January cruise. Mind you Cubie will have scoffed all the canapes by then.

I thought mooring ropes had barriers half-way up to stop rodents gaining entry? If that's no longer the case, it could be very useful for me....

Feel free to take over the reins, Stephen, it won't affect us who are reigning.

What is it with some people? This morning I received two cheques from people wanting to make a donation to a recipient. They wanted their names and addresses to be withheld from the recipient. That would be fair enough, were it not for the fact that they gave their cheques to the recipient to pass on to me... :eh:
