You can try and sell Maldon to me as to why I would want to visit it. I am sure there must be things going for it other than the mud flats
You could aim to see it before it slides into the North Sea .... just a thought

That's it. Not as god as Wheelers were in my opinion.

Yes, I had a guess that was the one. Nope, can not remember the chippy, if fact, I can't remember Maldon. I realize why, I have never been there.
So still our paths have not crossed.

I'm sure I saw you there the other day :D

You are in danger of upsetting poor Stephen with all this fake news about delightful Maldon, :sarcasm: :o i

Won't upset me John. I'm quite happy living in delightful Maldon. If others don't like it then that suits us. We don't want the riff raff from other parts of the country ruining the area.

I only just got let in 40 years ago :D

Strange thing .... Our Sainsbugs £100+ delivery was picked by seven this morning yet will not be delivered til 2 or 3.

Stranger still was that a number of my bottles of wine had been flagged to ' allow ' substitution. Their notification advises that many were substituted for Milk, Mushrooms, OXO Cubes, Butter, Hot Cross Buns, Extra Strong Mints and all sorts of other things. The strangest thing of all was that these items mirrored the little old lady down the lane's shopping list.

How did Sainsbury manage to do that, a complete mystery eh :? .

Just finalised our order for tomorrow. Given that if they substitute items you get the higher cost refunded as a voucher for the next time is the best tactic to order lots of very cheap things, selecting especially those you suspect might be out of stock?

You pay the higher cost of the substitution but as you say you do get the difference refunded. The refund notification comes by email and you will then need to ' Manage Your Coupons ' at the time of Checking Out for your next shop. Clicking the refund coupon will adjust the bill accordingly.

It is a smart-ish tactic to order items at the lower end of what you actually like to eat in the hope that you may get something better but second guessing such items is not at all easy to do. In my experience you get the message that nothing suitable was available even when I have ordered the cheaper item AND the more expensive one in the same order with both having the allow flag switched on. Good luck on that one ;) .

Not been devious yet, but so far has served us well. Ordered own brand honey and got a branded alternative for the same price (that voucher goes on this week's shop) and ordered a small box of one of our preferred cereals and got a big box with a voucher instead.

You were lucky then Merv, I ordered a 1kg easy cook rice but only received a 500gm one, so no refund or voucher. Sainsburys obviously treats Yorkshiremen different to you.

Yes but they would have charged you less for the smaller one! You only get the refund when they charge you more. So in future order the 250gm one!

They offered me lawn seed. Then said they didn't have it and offered me 4 in 1 lawn treatment. Now they're not delivering that theyre sending a lawn patching kit. Any idea how you sew those on? And I didn't want bleedin' lawn seed in the first place. I'll try for compost next week..
