I had
A bowl of special K with full fat milk
scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, no black pud
toast and jam
2 cups of coffee
3 glasses of cranberry juice

was going to go for the yogurt, bu they only had odd flavours, so I had another round of toast

There was a father and son sitting at the next table to us in the hotel on Sunday. What they left on their plates from the self-service buffet would have done us a decent meal. What a waste.

Just out of interest, when you are on a cruise ship, do you ever see any of the ports.....or are you always troughing it in the buffitt ?!

next cruise is All inc, so that could be problematic
on board, I do breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and maybe the odd snack, inter dispersed with liquids of varying colours and alcohol content
we do see the ports , mainly from a chair in or outside a cafe or from the inside of a shop, works for us

Yes, but to be fair, stuffing yourself silly and getting rat-arsed is your normal, everyday behaviour so I stupidly thought that you might like to try something a little different whislt visiting far-flung foreign parts

it is just hotter and the pub and restaurant move about a bit, we have done the trips and the sites etc
we are not total chavs, you cheeky sod

On the last cruise, there were two couples who seemed to spend every hour of every day at the same table by the Neptune bar. Why ?

In all honesty, I go on holiday to spend lots of time with Lady D, she has a stessful job and we go away so she can totally relax, we do a few trips, do some sightseeing in port and we relax, if that means sitting all day reading, then fine, if it means staying in the bar getting hammered, then that's fine as well
I am not caught up in the whole panto of following some guide around just to see some rubble or to see a lake or waterfall or getting dragged round some old house or museum to see some old pictures or tables
if it makes me a philistine, then print me a tee shirt and call me common, but I really dont care matey

not getting stressed mate, just my idea of what cruising is about is different to yours and other peoples, no right or wrong, what we do suits us
as long as we each have a good time , who gives a monkeys how you spend your days, you snobby cruise bore

I don't consider myself epsecially snobby (well, maybe a bit !) but we all go to such wonderful places now, I really can't see the point of spending all the time in Wetherspoons or the like. You can do that any day of the week. We don't spend all our time on the tourist trail, far from it, but our idea of a holiday is doing something different than you would at home. We spend our fair share of the time in cafes and bars too, you know
