There was a representative of the Belgian Tourist Board interviewed on Radio 2 Drivetime earlier this week - she was asked what were the best things about Belgium. After some deliberation, she came up with beer, chocolate and.......beer and chocolate street festivals !!

I didn't much care for their fruit-flavoured beers but the stuff brewed in the Trappist monasteries is good stuff. It's a long time since I had any, and my tastes have gone back more to bitters and ales than "bierre blanc" brews. I'd rather sit down with a bottle of red wine though.

I'll have to look him up later. I'm not usually a fan of jazz, but Tim Bowman is a good jazz guitarist and then, of course, there's Kenny G... Rock is my preferred genre
