I notice that Megan's father is casting doubt of the authenticity of some of the comments.

Probably not Mob …it’s just that a couple of them are prone to making dumb comments.

But looking to the future one can only hope that the one who would be King has a short reign otherwise the 'Firm' will definitely go bust imo.

Well that really is headline news, William is asked if the Royal family is racist, and he says NO, who would have expected that?

I can think of a few on here who are prone to making dumb comments, it’s not the preserve of the ‘Royals’. Me included.!

I take your point but I can categorically state that I have never questioned the colour of a child’s skin in any mixed marriage.

Yes, working under the umbrella of HRH does have it’s perks so my daughter tells me.

I don't understand the fuss. The Queen married a Greek. Did anyone ask if Charles was going to look like Demis Roussos when he was born?

It's a case of ' ellecting to be offended ' as someone used to say.

Prince Philip and Princess Anne can say the sort of things that I would say. I'm no racist but I am not politically correct nor have I any intention of being so. Our boys married Spanish and Indonesian girls and it was a bit of a worry that if they went on to have children they would be bullied ... by school children rather than the Royals of course.

ps ... Saw Demis Roussos live and had his Greatest Hits cassette, couldm't tell you what colour he was though.

The double standards of the EU are breathtaking.

The EU takes action to stop export of vaccines because it has cocked up its vaccine programme.

Weeks later it accuses the UK of blocking vaccine exports (seemingly untrue) and threatens legal action.

The EU tears up the agreement to safeguard the Irish border because it fears EU may get to Northern Ireland and only backs down after fierce criticism.

Weeks later the UK delays part of the Northern Ireland /rest of the UK border arrangements for longer than had been agreed (a delay was part of the original deal) to ensure safety at the ports and give time for arrangements to bed in, and the EU threatens legal action.

From the very start the EU bans import of fish and/or seafood from some UK waters on health grounds, despite happily importing fish from the same waters when we were in the EU the day before.

The UK imposes additional checks on some lavender and rosemary products from Italy (checks, not a ban) to prevent the spread of a bacteria which
is rampant in mainland Europe but not found in the UK, and the EU is urged to punish the UK for breaching the trade agreement.

It is very clear from numerous press reports that there is increasing anti EU feeling in a number of larger EU countries, including France, Germany and Italy, and the EU bureaucrats and their supporters are desperate to make leaving the EU look as difficult as possible.

My prediction is that within 5 years at least one other large country and maybe more will be on their way out. Rather than learn from our exit and reform, the EU is determined to go blindly down the dead end in which it finds itself and try to bully its critics into submission.

Spot on accurate Merv and it’s showing up the Eu for what they actually are.
I don’t necessarily agree about another large contributor leaving though.
They are tied in with the Euro.
It would be virtually impossible.
Maybe one or two smaller nations who were wise enough to keep their currency could leave if the Eu continues down it’s current road.
I had a chuckle at a pro Eu article in Politico last week telling how there was an increase in Irish trucks ferrying straight to France and bypassing England as if it was a bad thing.
Having lived in Kent for most of my life, I can assure them that the people of Kent won’t miss the trucks, the congestion the pooing in lay-bys and the pollution.

I can’t think anyone would think so either Screwy but no job comes without a bit of sh*t from time to time.

I was talking in general terms with regards to perks. Civil service jobs and those of the armed forces benefits seem to be quite generous compared to many other professions.

Not sure how you arrive at that as having two son-in-laws in, or have been in, the armed forces there are more downsides to benefits.

If you can dodge the bullets, benefits look more than competitive compared to that of on civvy street
