Just to bring us back to the reality of the corrupt EU (Sorry Ken - I'm being myopic again) I see they've commandeered all the doses of the AZ vaccine, which they don't really want) from a factory that the UK government supported when they refused.
So what are they going to do with it.? Are they vaccinating any one at all with it, or are they flogging it to bolster the coffers?
I think they just don't want us to have any of it. I heard one of them interviewed saying that if they hadn't been let down with supplies they'd have been in the same position as the UK. That is of course untrue because they were weeks behind us in approving the vaccines and have since had this shambles of deciding not to use the AZ vaccine first for older people and then for younger ones. They are getting a lot of criticism from within the EU and since they are unable to improve their performance seem to think they can look better by hindering us.

It's a bit like ugly Victorian ladies who used to carry a monkey on their shoulder to make themselves look more attractive by comparison. It's also a lot like bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

I know others will disagree, as is their right, but I am convinced it is just another example of inefficient megalomaniac bureaucrats who will, sooner of later, ensure the downfall of the EU.

If the truth be known the EU are problem stock-piling for a roll out which will be based on which EU member states are contributing most to the EU coffers. At the end of the day, it’s a dog-eat-dog world where the top dogs always get more than their fair share.

Given enough time, EU countries will catch up and when they do, they will ask what all the fuss was about.
Many of the Euro Fanatics including my mate Jeff, still can’t see any wrong with the clearly failed political project.
When I mentioned the mutuality of debt project, he thought it was a great thing. 😂
It now looks like they are going to ask the U.K. for yet another extension for the process of ratifying the Brexit agreement.

I, as a remainer, recognise that the EU have spectacularly shot themselves in the foot. No need for Boris or Farage now. There is no way I would vote to rejoin the EU after the way they have behaved over the vaccine procurement and distribution. "and lo; the scales fell from their (my) eyes.

Anyone takes the Telegraph? Just caught the start of a story before they want you to subscribe to the paper.
The headline was 'Pubs and bars face being punished for Covid rule-busting queues'
That's all I could read, but question is, why they may be punished.
Primark and Debenhams have had queues one to two hundred yards long, with shoppers having to negotiate those queuing to go on their way.
Why are pubs not allowed a queue, I would not think they would be any way the near the length of the shops queues?
How could a pub stop anyone on a public pavement from queuing to enter, even night clubs have queues.
I would like it if you can enlighten me.

It is apparently about people in the queue not socially distancing. But I agree why punish pubs not shops? Maybe it is because pubs have a licence they can take away but shops don't. Still seems unfair. For balance they should water cannon all non conforming queues.

The thing that I read, not in the Telegraph, is that Jo Public has been finding ways around the rules - things such as booking tables under different names then basically having a party with all of their mates mixing without masks/social distancing.

Pub landlords are complaining that they have to police what is going on - well yes it is their business.

I have said this before and I will say it again - the behaviour of the selfish, ignorant minority will result in pushing the easing of the lockdown back by one or two months.

According to a Goldman Sachs spokesperson last night they chose Birmingham over that of nine European countries

A great endorsement of the diverse talents we have in this country

So the ship Ever giving which blocked to Suez Canel has been charged just over a million pounds a day for the six days. Now a battle with the insurer's and the Canel company over the amount asked for is going on.
Pity for those who have containers on her and just have to wait for an outcome.

Seems very cheap for the chaos caused but maybe it's just the start. That's the canal company. I wonder if those companies whose ships were delayed in the queue will sue too?

I see Sir Hindsight is demanding a full parliamentary investigation into claims of Tory sleaze. No problem with that.

We must remember of course there has never been any sleaze or cronyism in the Labour Party.
