Embed YouTube Videos in Posts

CC has now configured their editor to allow YouTube videos to be embedded within a post without leaving the site to view one.

This looks like a good step forward and would enable yet another way for members data to be disseminated.

Any thoughts?

Actually it is not as easy as you might think and it becomes unreliable as my understanding is that the code changes quite often. Whilst it may work now there is no guarantee that it will work in the future.

Furthermore there are issues with being able to run YouTube videos on all platforms (ipads I believe can be a pain in the you know what)

There is yet a further issue with server load.

I will look into it in some more detail but personally I would prefer any YouTube videos to be links.

I have come across a number of links in CC posts but so far none have worked for me, whether the code had changed or my anti virus software stopped it, I don't know.

It's really not too much effort to follow a link in a post and look at in another tab? Not sure having the video embedded in the post adds to the sum of human knowledge

(Coincidentally this was just one of the first videos that came up when I was looking for one to try)

I cannot guarantee that this will always work and neither can I guarantee that it will work on all platforms.

To add a YouTube video to a post go to the YouTube video that you want. Click on the "Embed" button and then paste that code between the youtube tags.

Any misuse/over use of this will result in it being withdrawn.
