Files area
David,
Is it possible to have an area where we can upload various files that will assist cruisers. As mentioned I have files on Butlers, Ship cabin photos, first time cruising to name a few. All are saved in PDF so can be accessed by anyone.

Re: Files area
I have to back up Peter’s request.
I’m sure that with David’s admin skill, he would be able to have a look at the Facebook file storage method and incorporate something similar into this forum. If structured correctly, such a facility could quickly build into a vast database of knowledge and might well be a catalyst to drive new members to register and take part in this forum.
As well as Peter’s vast amount of knowledge which he freely forms into easily to read pdf files, there are many other contributors with equally viable collections of cruising information who I’m sure would also be willing to upload and perhaps secure this forums future by building on its firm foundations and provide a service no other cruise forum does.

Re: Files area
You can (should) be able to do that now by adding the file as an attachment. Whilst I appreciate that may not be idea it will be worth trying.
I am a bit pushed for time at the moment due to starting a major overhaul of the hose - but when I get a bit of time I will look at a better solution.
Another thought could be to have it as a Wiki

Re: Files area
David a follow on.
I will try posting as an attachment, but then the issue becomes; where to post and it may get lost if there are numerous comments.
Using the test area I have just tried to upload a PDF and there is no facility or offer of a PDF extension.

How long can it take to overhaul a hose? Do you need to borrow some gaffer tape?david63 wrote:You can (should) be able to do that now by adding the file as an attachment. Whilst I appreciate that may not be idea it will be worth trying.

Criticising a Modplod's spelling could, on some fora, be considered a "hanging" offenceMervyn and Trish wrote:How long can it take to overhaul a hose?

Spelling mistake? What spelling mistake? I didn't see one. I was merely trying to be helpful with your gardening problem. Though come to think of it perhaps I misunderstood and you were referring to darning your socks. In which case I suppose gaffer tape might not be ideal.
