Re: "Onelife's Pinch an inch diet"
The pinch an inch diet did well today...until tea time when Sue sabotaged my efforts byserving up chocolate fudge cake. I dread the scales tomorrow, perhaps I will delay by 24 hours.

I was thinking the same thing, Frank, but in my case I think it might be better to delay it a week. I wish the shops would stop selling Magnums - I have demolished 4 over the last couple of days plus a gorgeous creamy fruit pavlova at the garden centre today.Frank Manning wrote:The pinch an inch diet did well today...until tea time when Sue sabotaged my efforts byserving up chocolate fudge cake. Talk about lack of self control.

I lovo Magnums too, but I haven't had one recently...I hope this hasn't started a train in my subconscious. I have a rotten cold at present and need some comfort food!

Re: "Onelife's Pinch an inch diet"
Phew - that's a relief. I am 140lbs which is my target weight so 1lb down on last Sunday. Jo was right last week when she said you can vary by a couple of lbs during a week as I was rather thrilled to see 139lbs 4oz midweek but obviously those Magnums have added a few extra ounces but not as bad as I expected. Luckily we didn't go to our friends last night as we are going tonight instead so the damage from the wine/crisps/sweets won't show up until next week's weigh in.
Hope that chocolate fudge cake hasn't done too much damage, Frank, if you decide to weigh in today.
Enjoy your trip, Alan and your day out, Jo.

Good morning pinchers,
Better than what l was expecting .....gained 3 lbs which ain't that bad after a week of over indulgence. Funny enough, my wife went shopping last night and brought back a wooden spoon.....she likes stiring it when l put on weight.
Stay strong pinchers and remember.... "do make love to your wife or fatten like Onelife"
Just for Frank......
"If you're feeling particularly susceptive, avoid McVities chocolate digestive
Regards
Keith

Re: "Onelife's Pinch an inch diet"
Hi pinchers,
I've just realised that we are fast approching a milestone in the Onelife pinch-an inch diet plan.... June 3rd will mean we've been going for six months...so a big well done to those of us who are still in there struggling!!
Whether its a few ounces or several lbs l think the pinch-an-inch diet has made us more aware of the benifits of trying to live a more healthy life style. l for one have certainly seen the diffrance having lost nearly two stone with only 4lbs to go to reach my target.
l'll be missing this Sundays weigh in as l'm away again later in the week, "sheep shearing" in Wales...which l may add, is vastly different to what Stephen would have you thinking l'll be doing with the sheep.
Anyhow....l just wanted to say well done to all my pinchers for getting this far, and a bigger well done for those of us who will be sticking with it for another six months because you can be sure the weight goes back on far faster than it comes off. l will of cource just have to do a bit of "hovering" to maintain the new me......smug or what?
Stay strong pinchers and remember...."if you over feed, you'll go to seed"
Regards
Keith

Another ok week for me with 1 1/2 lb lost. Wish it would come off a bit faster but happy that at least it is coming off.
3 weeks today we cruise on Azura. I am hoping to have lost another 7 lbs by then but that may be too ambitious.
Good luck everyone with your weigh ins.

Despite my profligate living these last two weeks, I've only gained eight ounces (bringing me back up to 11-7-8), so I should be able to get back down soon

Re: "Onelife's Pinch an inch diet"
Well done, pinchers. I was 140lb this morning so I'm hovering as well. I am slowly introducing some of the things that I have avoided for a while like cheese, bread and potatoes but not in the same quantities I used to eat. The best sandwich during the week was my favourite of Tiger bread, strong mature cheddar and slices of banana - mmmmmm, heaven. My husband thinks it is a disgusting concoction and won't even try it.
Do any of you like unusual combinations in a sandwich?
I wonder how Keefy is getting on annoying the sheep in Wales.

Re: "Onelife's Pinch an inch diet"
I would have to agree with your husband Maureen sounds yuk !! although I like both on a sandwich, just not together
I love bacon topped with melted cheese which was something my husband introduced me to, at the time I thought it was a disgusting combination, I can't imagine why as ham/cheese is more than acceptable
Ohhhh the thought of a bacon sandwich

Re: "Onelife's Pinch an inch diet"
Maureen when I was a boy I liked tomato sauce sandwiches, my first girl friend was the girl next door and her Mum was horrified, and told my Mum. Whereupon they were banned! Now my favourites are cold turkey, or chicken with mustard, and cold poached salmon with watercress. Not unusual.
2lbs down this week, I need a further 8lbs in total before 22nd June.

Re: "Onelife's Pinch an inch diet"
Frank - I have a lot of sympathy for you trying to lose weight as I believe you bake your own bread. The smell of the lovely warm Tiger bread at Tesco was just too much for me and I had to buy some. I couldn't survive in your house with the wonderful smell of freshly cooked bread and would give up any idea of dieting so I think you have done very well to lose 2lbs this week.
Luckily for me I hate cooking and we rarely buy cakes so my diet doesn't get sabotaged so easily as yours.
Maureen.
