I'd rather not have too many ferrets round the back if you don't mind !

Questions (vaguely relevant to this group):

1: If you are in a race, and you overtake the person in second place, what position are you in?

2: If you are in a(nother) race and you overtake the person in last place, which position are you in?

1. Second

2. Unique - 'cos you can't overtake yourself.

True, but irrelevant, as you can overtake the person in last place. I would be surprised if there has been a Formula 1 race where it hasn't happened.

good afternoon all

just checking the usual dross is on-going and I don't have to expend my energies trying to win a non horse race ;-)
tonight I am escorting Lady D to see Mr Russell Watson in concert, this is pay back for me not having to go on a Pando cruise to see him , for which I will be forever indebted to Lady D
Tomorrow is the old corporate shin dig , but at the risk of comrade QB going off on one about how my largess and excess costs him money, I will not mention it further...................Fore !!!

I suppose, if you're being pedantic, you could be second, third or whatever and lap the last person and still be in the position you were before but I assumed I was in the lead when I overtook the last person - so I am still first !

Ok, so the only way you can overtake the last person is by lapping them - but what position are you now?...... Exactly the same one as you were before, whatever that may be. The only position you can't be is last (which rules out some of this group)

From my lofty position at the head of this thread I do worry about some of the inane comments from those struggling to keep up.

Neither, ( and the age of the attendees will be rather older).......Just for clarification - in case Cubie, or anyone else, gets the wrong idea,
