Re: Last One to Post Wins
If he can only get 60% of Labour Party member votes I wonder how he'll get on with the wider electorate? I don't see him in Downing Street anytime soon. I, on the other hand, am a born leader and here I am again!

How many of that 60% were stooges who only joined the Communi... Labour party to vote him in and make them unelectable?

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Though I would add he got 251,417 votes out of 422,664.
The total UK electorate at the last election was 45,325,100
So he got 60% of votes cast by less than 1% of the electorate. I wouldn't be choosing new curtains yet!

David Cameron only got 28.3% of the available votes in the first round of his leadership election, which didn't even put him in the lead - let alone an overall majority.Mervyn and Trish wrote:Though I would add he got 251,417 votes out of 422,664.

But no, I am not a Corbyn enthusiast either; though I will be interested to see how much of his left wing fervour is tempered by pragmatism as he develops his leadership. Either way, he deserves to be given sufficient rope..........!

My point Notso is not about the perecentage of the party faithful who voted for him, but the percentage of the mainly centre population who won't if he sticks to his daft ideas like printing money. You can ask those familiar with German history what happens when you do that. Not so ancient mariner wrote:David Cameron only got 28.3% of the available votes in the first round of his leadership election, which didn't even put him in the lead - let alone an overall majority.Mervyn and Trish wrote:Though I would add he got 251,417 votes out of 422,664.

Ignoring the obvious innuendo, there is no place in this world for small cakes.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
What is it with people? Our website clearly says that the office is closed over the weekend. Someone used the site's contact form on Friday evening, about 4 hours after we closed, to say they apologise for the short notice but what time would be best for them to come to the museum on Monday morning. I emailed straight back (yes, I know I'm sad checking work emails from home) saying that they couldn't come as we were fully booked.
They turned up this morning - said they'd received my email but decided to come anyway...
