Monday over - thank goodness. Now 3 lovely days working from home which means I can keep my eye on you lot and, of course, always be in the lead. Welcome home Merv - time to get your thermals out!

Lovely thanks HD. We go to Madeira a couple of times a year and we love it.

This time we took our daughter, SIL and two grandchildren, Chloe aged 3 (and a half she insists) and Zoe (2).

So we spent a lot more time in and around the pool than usual and it was wonderful to see the girls swimming come on in leaps and bounds. Chloe went from pottering around in armbands to (on the wet day) doing a whole width of the indoor pool without! And Zoe wasn't far behind.

And we saw a few ships bobbing in and out from our balcony with a view over Funchal harbour too.
