"The Chuckle Brothers and Tinks" doesn't really flow. Nearly as contrived as "The Sutherland Brothers and Quiver"Silver_Shiney wrote:They probably took their inspiration from her....
No. I don't know why I came up with that, either !!

Just checking my memory wasn't failing and I see that Capt and T were divorced last year after 39 years! Sad.

Pointless Celebrities. A programme that is totally honest about it's content!qbman1 wrote:I accidentally caught a bit of them on Pointless at the weekend. What a pair of pillocks !Mervyn and Trish wrote:Better than Jedward anyway

Not strictly true - I would argue about the "Celebrities" bit. I haven't heard of half of them !

Well if you're sure....
Anyway you've missed the point about celebrities. Once upon a time someone achieved something, became well known and thus became a celebrity.
Today they just apply for a job as "celebrity", which requires no qualifications or talent whatever, then they appear on TV as a "celebrity" and nobody actually knows who they are or what they do.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up.
Is it something to do with this "reality tv" malarkey ? I've never quite understood where the "reality" bit comes in.

Nor me. The one thing reality TV lacks is reality. How many people really get marooned in the jungle with a punch of halfwits and have to eat bugs or ditto share a house with same halfwits?
(Other than the spouses/partners of some LOTP participants of course)

"a punch of halfwits"
I think you have just inadvertently created an excellent new collective noun !
I, for one, would certainly like to punch most of the twits who appear on the telly !

Hello all!
I'm home from my holiday to Guatemala to visit our daughter, my goodness that was a loooong journey!
I'll try my hand at a review by the weekend. You never know someone may find it interesting;) I am now going to read some of the topics to find out what I have missed
