Anyone else with Sky+ finding that the new automatic programming of TV series you regularly record is a bit hit and miss?
The reason I ask is that several shows return from their midwinter break during our hols and outside the 7 day forward window for manually programming them.
So does anyone know a method of ensuring a Sky box will programme these as they occur.

Note to Shiney, please no wisecracks about better Virgins.
I agree it is not as "automatic" as they say too - I missed a couple of episodes of programmes which restarted while I was away which were in my planner waiting for the new series to start - be interested if anyone knows how you ensure this happens too.

Yes of course it does Shiney, I am planning ahead for programmes not yet in the TV guide but due to start whilst we are on holiday.
Surely your wonderful Virgin has a similar feature to the one I outlined in my original post, if not how can it claim to be Best.

If it's a series we've watched in the past as a "series link", our TIVO box automatically records any new series, regardless of what channel it's on - for example, I found "Car SOS" on National Geographic and set up a series link. Repeats are shown on one of the C4 channels, and it records those as well. The TIVO on-screen guide shows at least two weeks-worth of programmes and I can programme it from anywhere in the world using an Android device.

Funnily enough, the professional ballroom dance instructor on Arcadia, Geoffrey, has some really interesting stories about them but, since I am so discreet......!

Apparently, none of the top professionals at the time would take the judges jobs as they all thought it would be a flop! The BBC recruited the judges on the basis of their personality rather than experience. Still, that makes sense, it is entertainment and not a dance competition, as we have all said.
