I see Towny has arrived in Funchal, well at least Ventura has. Not been able to spot him on the webcam yet. Shame it's not a better day for him - a bit overcast. But where would I rather be....

Perhaps the Goldie stripes need a polish

Arcadia has pitched up in Brazil too, with our pals from the Christmas cruise who stayed on for the worldie. Looks a but dull there as well but I have e-mailed for a more comprehensive weather report.

Where do these people get their money. Perhaps they have Hatton Garden shares :!:

They have done the same for the previous three years and are already booked for next - ie take the cruise before and stay on for the worldie. They took early retirement and are now freelance, working like Trojans for 7 months to spend the next 4 on a ship !

Quite. But I think if I spent that long on holiday, I would find it really hard to come back to reality at the end of it. It's bad enough after just 23 days.....!

I know allot of people would love a world cruise, but for me personally it would be my worst nightmare.

23 nights would be pushing it. A couple of weeks, tops, is enough for me.

I could do it.....but I think Mrs C might get a bit fed up being on her own at home all that time !!

We're trying 28 next year. Our previous record was 16. Much as seeing the places on a Worldie appeals I think I might get cabin fever long before we got back. And then there's the price..... A Worldie or two or three weeks a year for a few years to come?

It was on the "Off-Topic" thread but I didn't dare respond on there for fear of outraging the old feller's sensibilities again !

It does, however, raise all sorts of interesting possibilities for faking posts, if one is so inclined !

See you're getting the hang of it now Cubie! I must admit I've used the same tactic to respond without upsetting me.

I am. But the bad news is the F&C giveway is on the Friday Drivetime Show. We have nothing to offer but wit and repartee. And only half of the former.

Poor show. Radio Oxford used to do some good 'phone ins (admittedly many, many years ago). I once won a signed David Essex LP (height of my fame !)

Did you get it from that lot who always play on the sea front at Funchal?
