"Borrow" hadn't crossed my mind - I was thinking more of a hand-out to the poor and needy !

Surely it can't cost much more than a balcony on Oriana (cockroaches included!) ?!

Some mistake there surely Lord Shiney. I thought only old people got the Wednesday discount at B&Q. How did a young chap like you manage it?

I passed the right side of 60 last year, boss.

Have you got the installers in Alan or are you doing it yourself
I'm doing it myself - adding a light to an existing spur that I installed in the loft about 20 years ago, so no need to inform the buildings inspector! Also putting in another couple of power points in the loft for the model railway that I am keen to build.

Perhaps he has very low ceilings :) and don't forget the £10000 bathroom he has coming.
The bathroom bits cost just under £3,000 (Victorian Plumbing have some rather nice things). We're having the lot stripped out, tiles and all, and putting in a walk-in shower, and wall panels all round, new loo and wash-hand basin. There's a couple of guys coming to do the work and also fix the lounge ceiling where the previous shower/bath installation leaked and caused a fair bit of damage, sort out a problem with the landing floorboards, replace the broken stop-cock and put a new garden fence up. Their labour and fence comes in at about £5k so we should have enough to replace the lounge carpet and still have a sizeable amount of change left from the loan. Undecided as to paying this back (loan interest 3.5%) or drip feeding it into our monthly savings account (net interest 4.5%)

We done the same with our en suite last year. A messy business, and I was glad to see the back of the trades. But worth it in the end.

No bucket, just the kitchen bowl, now moved to the side of the bed. I don't like walking too far at night. :)

Surely you don't need to go anywhere at the moment - just sling the hose out of the window and turn on the tap ?!

You could connect it up to one of those trickle hoses and scent mark the whole garden

The grass needs cutting. Don't want it any wetter. I could hook it up to the water butt though.

Apparently, it's good for tomatoes. Me dear old dad had his first job in a nursery and he told me the workers all used to wee in the rainwater butt, which they then used for watering the greenhouse !

Shared a room with a lad in Oman who didn't even bother with a bowl, he just pee'd against the wall by his pillow

Put it this way - one morning another room mate woke up to find that his wardrobe had been "used" and his entire uniform had to be sent to the laundry....

Enough of that - you'll get us all banged up for use of Class A canapes

Mornin' peoples - been to the allotment to water the greenhouse on the way in this morning. Bright, but a bit parky
