Re: Last One to Post Wins
My daughter has just returned from a few days in Malta where she met 'Lloyd George'
Well not exactly, but this chap was quite elderly - and he knew my father!
They had both served out there (and Singapore) in the 1960s
Small world!!

I'm not well
Watched some of Britains Got Talent last night on ITV3, and for some strange reason I enjoyed it.....or was it Alesha Dixon that caught my interest

What we want to do is certainly feasible, so we're going to start fleshing out the plans. At the moment, it looks like we'll be leaving early morning to drive to Dover, catch a ferry to Dunkirk, overnight (possibly two nights) in Bruges, continue up to Hamburg for 4 nights, stop for two nights in Utrecht on the way back, then raid the Dunkirk hypermarket before returning home.towny44 wrote:Did your holiday planning come to fruition Shiney?

That's a lot of effort to go shopping. Don't they have supermarkets in BS?Silver_Shiney wrote:What we want to do is certainly feasible, so we're going to start fleshing out the plans. Better selection and cheaper prices, sir. Last time we went, we didn't buy a huge quantity of coffee but we save about £80 on UK prices. Booze, obviously, is much cheaper and, if you're into liqueurs, there's a much wider selection. I saved £10 on a pack of ink cartridgesMervyn and Trish wrote:That's a lot of effort to go shopping. Now, now, you know it mostly goes on tax so we can maintain our absurd levels of benefits and keep the economies of Eastern Europe boomingSilver_Shiney wrote:Better selection and cheaper prices, sir. But it must be cheaper to get to the supermarket down the road..Silver_Shiney wrote:Better selection and cheaper prices, sir. If that's all you want, probably, but we're having a bit of a holiday at the same time. So the savings on coffee, wine etc will help to offset the cost of the holiday.Mervyn and Trish wrote:But it must be cheaper to get to the supermarket down the road..

And there was me going to invite you round for a cup. Oh well, perhaps I'll still invite you round - someone will have to do the washing up....
