Quite right Batty, as I feel no conscience when my pension, paid for by your taxes, lands in my account (but only briefly before being passed on to one holiday company or another)

Certainly is. I like to ensure that the poorly paid people in the hospitality industry benefit from Batty's taxes, albeit via me, especially as he's too mean to go on a proper TBM cruise these days.

After this one Merv, I won't be going on any cruises and I can rest easy knowing I won't have to listen to another boring a*se telling me how many cruises they have done or which is the best ship/line/captain/port etc etc

Had enough SS
there is much more to life than doing the same ship, same ports and same itinerary every year, I mean is it really something to get excited about when people have done the same cruise 4 or 5 times ?
we have done the itineraries we wanted or will have soon and we refuse to cruise , just for the sake of it, so we are looking at a Sandals resorts, Hawaii, Iceland and a few other places in the next couple of years

Fair dos Batty. When we've been everywhere we want to go, or if we get fed up, we'll change tack too. But even after our 500 cruises on 600 ships on 700 different lines there's still a bit to do yet!

no disrespect to folks, but I am not yet 50 and lady D isn't even 45, so whilst we are working ,we are limited to 14 night cruises and we have done 8/9 ,so now its time to do other types of holidays.

I can understand that. We like to have a mix of both cruise and UK holidays. Mainly UK unless funds dictate otherwise.

It's one of the reasons we like to go at Christmas - I can have more than 14 days without a great deal of time off work

We probably do one a year, but when you're not tied to 5 or 6 weeks annual leave that still leaves time to try other stuff. Same reason we can now go to Madeira twice a year. The limit is money, and you can't take it with you.
