Thanks, you two. Always a sad time but at least we know it was the right decision for Jols. He spent his last day in the garden in the sun with Mrs C and he ended his days there. The vet was happy to do the deed in the garden and he went really quickly and quietly.

Thanks - he had a few good months after his problems at the start of the year but the fits started again a week or so ago and he went downhill on Monday and Tuesday. I think he'd just had enough

Yep, we had a vet and a nurse on the doorstep at 6 pm last night and they were more than happy to treat Jols where he had settled in the garden.

There was an article in the local news a couple of weeks ago reporting that Mr Eavis gives his land a "fallow year" every 7 years and I thought they'd mentioned Longleat as the site for next years's festival but, on trying to verify that, the only thing I can find is on the Grauniad website, which says they haven't decided where to go, if they do move.
