Arrived home at 22:05 on Monday night to find a group of youths ringing our door bell, when we got out of the car they surrounded us saying "trick or treat" I replied "do us a favour lads someones just passed away" and they all walked quietly down the drive.

When we got in the house Cheryl asked me why I had to lie to them and I told her that somewhere in Nottingham there has been a death tonight.

I know they're more usually called mopeds these days, but to me, a moped was a motorised bicycle that had pedals so that you could still cycle home if you ran out of petrol.

I do wonder about adults who ride the scooters depicted in Stephen's picture - don't they realise these things are kids' toys?
