We are off down to Southwold in Suffolk for a few days today prior to our pre Christmas tour of Cheryl's family in Norfolk.

Its about 40 years since I was last in Southwold so if anyone knows of one or two nice restaurants in or around the town please let me know, we are staying at the Swan Hotel which has a restaurant but we don't want to eat there every night.

It's 36 years since we were in Southwold the summer of 1980, I remember watching Seb Coe win the 1500 metres on our tiny b&w portable in our caravan, happy days.

Frosty here - but not particularly cold, as it's now clouding over. This could be interesting..........

I think the BBC weather bods must use forked sticks. They said in not so many words last night, "it's going to be bl**dy cold tonight". So I put the car in the garage, and what did I find this morning, not a hint of frost or ice.

It was below freezing first thing here but no frost, probably too dry and windy for that, looking forward to the white stuff later today.

The rain is just turning to sleet here, but heavy snow is forecast for overnight and early morning. Good job I have nowhere to go tomorrow, mind you it is a BBC forecast which, just like the Beeb news, does tend to dwell on the worst case scenario.
