Morning all, I see I am still in the lead despite a lot of whinging from the back, I feel a bit like Lewis Hamilton with all the outrageous carping at my driving style.

Beautiful day today here at Maldon towers. Going to be a extremely cold one tonight though so make sure all your plants and outside pipes are protected.

I'm information only. You want labour which is a different department.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Sorry to totally disagree with you Jan but I thought his tactics were the correct ones, in his situation.Jan Rosser wrote:Morning Johntowny44 wrote:Morning all, I see I am still in the lead despite a lot of whinging from the back, I feel a bit like Lewis Hamilton with all the outrageous carping at my driving style.please don't compare yourself with Lewis Hamilton
I was screaming at the tv yesterday - could not agree with his tactics - don't like him and his attitude - wonder what his "punishment" will be for disobeying team orders
All sportsmen have but one aim, which is to be the best, and in his situation the only possible way to become champion was for him to win and Roßberg to be 4th or lower. And there would be no harm to the team or either driver with those tactics since Mercedes had already won the team trophy, and whatever the result one of the Mercedes drivers would be World Champion.
He was never going to give in to the team instruction, and I thought they dropped the ball by suggesting he throw away his only chance of winning by extending the gap to protect Rosbergs 2nd place.

I think it was all a bit of PR anyway, trying to add a bit of interest to what has become a rather dull procession

I'm thinking of buying a pomegranate tree next year (and a persimon) - are they easy to grow in this country and have a good yield?qbman1 wrote:Hope this frost doesn't damage my pomegranates

Re: Last One to Post Wins
I think the answer is "yes" if you get the right variety. Mine was grown from a seed about 20 years ago and, whilst it is perfectly hardy and is a lovely looking tree in summer with loads of big, bright red flowers but this is the first year any fruit has actually set and, to be honest, they are on the small side and unlikely to fully ripen.
If you can find one that is specially bred for the UK climate, though, you should be OK
