Made the ultimate mistake of putting a set of lights on before testing them. Could I get the damn things work, no. Tried everything, not so much as a flicker. Off they came and then a wiz down to Tesco's for some more

Years ago we bought a small tree in a pot for the house. After bringing it in and taking it out again after the festivities for three years it was starting to look a bit sickly so we planted it in the garden. Who knew that by this year it would be tall enough and strong enough that I'd need to, and could safely, lean a ladder against it to put three sets of outdoor lights on it!
