Nobbut just as we say up north, its mid morning coffee time already, a bit too busy with ironing and lunch preparation to join you all earlier.Silver_Shiney wrote:Stephen wrote:Morning campers

Anything they say up t'north is a mystery, even to us in the south northlands.
For example, Towny is always saying "I'm no the lead", which is apparently Yorkshire dialect for "I'm a no hoper at the back of the queue and always will be". It makes understanding them very hard.

Yorkshiremen never never go to the back of a queue, we always know someone near the front that will invite us to join them.Silver_Shiney wrote:Has he even joined the back of the queue??Stephen wrote:Ay oop lad. Looks like thee is way back at queue again.

Oh dear, for how long have you been waiting for that invitation? As it hasn't come yet, I don't think it will nowtowny44 wrote:Yorkshiremen never never go to the back of a queue, we always know someone near the front that will invite us to join them.Silver_Shiney wrote:Has he even joined the back of the queue??Stephen wrote:Ay oop lad. Hmmm. Didn't Batty do a lot of "working from home"?
Sorry about the cold though. Trish has had a nasty one for the last couple of weeks and is still not back to normal. Coughing and washed out.

Not long got rid of a cold myself, so if you can stay offline until you're fully recovered Alan it would be appreciated.

Good of you to keep her on top of the laundry while she's not well
Seriously, I hope she recovers quickly.

Merv's kind like that. She didn't mind one bit apparently walking to the launderette.......5 miles away at 3 in the morning to avoid the rush.Silver_Shiney wrote:Mervyn and Trish wrote:Hmmm. Didn't Batty do a lot of "working from home"?

Re: Last One to Post Wins
That reminds me of when I was on the committee for our local residents' association. Three women in a small cul-de-sac contacted us to complain about a male neighbour who regularly emptied his bins at 0300 wearing nothing but a red bobble hat, and wanting to know what we were going to do about it. The only response we could come up with was "why are the three of you up watching him at that time of night?"Stephen wrote:

Re: Last One to Post Wins
The refit has made a great improvement, in my opinion. The ship is much lighter and more modern-looking. The majority of work has been cosmetic with new carpets, curtains and furnishings throughout. Apparently they have refurbished the Conservatory but I never use it so I cannot comment whether or not it is better. All the public lavatories have been re-fitted - all very nice but the sensors on the taps are too high so to get any water out of them you have to have your hands above the level of the marble tops and all the water runs over the back of the basins !towny44 wrote:Have a great cruise Cubie, and try to send us some reports especially whether the refit was worthwhile.
Loads of fluff from the carpet pile and they were having to hoover it up several times a day. I did have to rescue one poor soul in a wheelchair - he was completely worn out from wheeling his chair through the thick pile so I had to push him around for a while !

Welcome back Cubie, how was Oriana's vibration? Do you think it would be OK for a wheelchair user, once the carpets have worn down a little.
