Dark clouds this morning, so different to yesterday afternoons tropical sunshine as I washed the car. Will our weather improve once we exit the EU?

Of course it will. Climate change is an EU thing. Once we're out we get British weather back. 6 feet of snow every winter. Glorious sunny days every summer.towny44 wrote: 04 Apr 2017, 09:12Dark clouds this morning, so different to yesterday afternoons tropical sunshine as I washed the car. And another thing. We csn reopen our cosl fired power stations.
I saw an interesting thing on telly last night. Apparently the environmentalists are now concerned we are cutting down far more trees than we're planting. One of the causes. Demand for wood from those "green" biomass boilers and power stations.

Certainly not a laughing matter if your S American village has just been swept away by a mud slide caused by deforestation.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 04 Apr 2017, 19:26And another thing. We csn reopen our cosl fired power stations.

I certainly wasn't laughing. Just annoyed again at the green lobby targeting one thing while ignoring another. I never did get the rush to cutting down trees to manufacture biomass. Any reduction in CO2 comes 100 years later. If you bother to replant the trees.
The same as the dash for diesel which all the greens advocated and now they want to tax us for believing them.

I haven't check the trade in value of my diesel for a while, but I guess I will have to hold on to it a bit longer until the trade in value bottoms out. Mind you I was intending to do that anyway, just have to hope Southampton does not start levying an extra congestion charge on diesels.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 05 Apr 2017, 08:56I certainly wasn't laughing. I see the NFU have put out a warning to help prevent sheep worrying this Easter. Can we make sure we keep Keefy indoors, please

Most of the excitement seems to be about older diesels. Mine's less than 2 years old. But even if Southampton does impose a charge I'll have to do a lot more cruises than I can afford before it matches the extra initial cost of a hybrid or the running costs of a petrol!towny44 wrote: 05 Apr 2017, 09:44I haven't check the trade in value of my diesel for a while, but I guess I will have to hold on to it a bit longer until the trade in value bottoms out.
