I just knew it !! Welcome home anyway - glad you had a good voyagetowny44 wrote: 29 May 2017, 08:37A soggy good morning to you all, glad to read that you missed mè, we did enjoy our cruise despite P&Os best endeavours. Quite a few surly characters in security and Passenger services could do with some extra training if they are ever going to provide good customer service, we boarded in just over an hour from arriving, most of it waiting for CPS chauffers, however we watched Town on our tablet in the hotel foyer over lunch, so did not arrive until 2:15 for a 3:30 boarding time, so probably not truly indicative of what we would normally experience.
However the food was much better than expected, although quite fish heavy on the MDR menus, the weather was superb, although how much that was due to P&O I'm not sure. I still prefer Celebrity but that's purely our choice.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Cubie, I can only report things as I see experience them, maybe you're more easily satisfied with being fobbed off with answers that you know must be totally inaccurate. For example the water went brownish on the 2nd day everywhere on the ship they were cleaning the tanks apparently, I asked passenger services if it was still OK to drink and the oik behind the counter told me the water was never safe to drink which was why the staff always drank bottled water, so I asked him if the iced water served in the MDR's and that used to make all the ice, tea and coffee was also bottled; he got a wee bit flummoxed then when I asked him where they managed to store all this bottled water, but still stuck to his story.qbman1 wrote: 30 May 2017, 10:07I just knew it !! Now of course he may be correct, in which case I will apologise to him, but only when P&O start providing free bottled water so they don't poison us.

Terrible when staff tell you lies.....
Like the waiter on Calamity Collapse who argued solidly we didn't have a reservation in the select dining restaurant despite us having booked on line, having a receipt and a reservation card delivered to our cabin. Just saying.......

You're bound to get the odd chump anywhere. Sad thing is, it always reflects badly on the company. "They are only as good as their worst employee" !

Yes I see much frivolity! Serves me right for reacting to Towny.
But it does niggle when I hear that P&O have much to learn on Customer Service when the paragons at Calamity are actually dreadful (in our experience of course, but they did make more cockups in 4 nights than P&O have in over 200, so P&O have zero to learn from them IMHO!)
Sorry. I won't let Towny provoke me again. I'll let him continue with his delusions while I enjoy mine!

On this occasion Merv I have not used Celebtity as a comparison, just a general comment based on our experiences, where I highlighted just one instance which I would hope you would agree shows a poor lack of knowledge as well a non existant grasp of the basics of customer service, which is that the customer is always right.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 31 May 2017, 12:12Yes I see much frivolity!
