Sorry to hear about your son's FIL Alan. It's not the best of times for him or more particularly, his wife.

I spoke to them on Skype earlier and they're holding up okay. The funeral is on Saturday and now there's ructions because one of the sons (two live in Charlotte, some 10 hours drive away) is having a beef delivery tomorrow afternoon and he's got to be there to get it in, so he wants the burial delayed until next week. Unbe-flippin'-lievable.

The MIL told her landlord what the situation was and begged for time to get things together and extend the lease beyond the end of the month. She came home yesterday from the hospice to find an eviction notice stuck on the front door. Talk about kicking someone when they're down.
