Merv, do you remember our discussions on Epson printers and whether we needed to use Epson original ink or cheaper alternatives. Well after trying my hardest to use cheaper inks I have had to admit defeat, every time I try the cheap ones the printer develops a printing fault and I have eventually had to go back to Epson Inks.
I don't know whether these are genuine printing faults or some inbuilt software that kicks in when it recognises a dodgy cartridge, but I have now capitulated and am only buying the proprietary ones.
Are still happy with your cheap cartridges?

Occasionally my Epson throws a hissy fit John and reminds me I'm using non genuine ink. I just click ok or whatever it asks to carry on printing and away we go. You shouldn't be having a problem. Have you trie getting cartridges from a different supplier.

Yes I do override the warnings about non genuine ink, that's not the problem, I find that the heads clog up regularly with non genuine inks and often cleaning the heads and nozzles does not clear it, maybe it is the supplier I used, who do you use Stephen?

This is where I got my last lot of cartridges from John. No problem with them myself.

Hi Towny. Yes very happy with the ones I get from IJT. Occasionally I waste a little ink cleaning the heads using the inbuilt maintenance routine and usually after about 5 years or so I may have to ditch the printer. But by then I've saved several times the price of a new one compared to the genuine inks. And I've no idea whether the genuine ones would perform any better. Economically it's a no brainer for me.

The genuine ink costs almost as much as a printer these days which are now as cheap as chips.

My last printer came from IJT on a deal where if I bought two sets of their inks they gave me the printer.

We use Epson Hummingbird and a six pack comes in at £76.79. There was an ink shop, which has now closed, near by and the refills were a lot lot cheaper, but if you left the printer unused for to long, with the refills, the jets did block.

What a day,I hope you all suffered no damage from storm Callum unlike those in Wales who had the worst flooding in 30 years.By contrast, we in the east were sitting in the garden in swimwear with cold beers from the fridge. The garden thermometer in the shade hit 24.8c with Weybourne 29 miles away on the coast getting to 26c, very nice for October. Very sad for those in Wales and other parts of the West affected by the flooding and wind.

Still raining here - hasn't stopped since I returned on Friday but I am one of the fortunate ones - I live on a steep hill and the water is rushing past but thankfully I've not been flooded.
