Right - email sent to Paul Ludlow so we will see what happens now.
I've only ever sent one email to Paul Ludlow and that was to suggest it was about time they ended the tips fiasco by doing away with them and including in the price, et voila!

Let's hope that's an omen for you getting a rapid solution.

I'm sure we are all wondering David, have you had an acknowledgment to your email to Paul Ludlow ?

And there was I thinking it was my e-mail to Chris Edgington that did the trick! 8-)

I send mine to PL because he signed that shameful begging letter delivered to people who didn't stump up!

Update:

No response from PL

Phoned Customer Services yesterday and got another load of waffle about it being everyone else's problem but P&O's  Asked why P&O could not have been more proactive and kept passengers informed as to what was happening - apparently they will once it is sorted out, yes heard that one before

Checked my I-94 record this morning and lo and behold my departure is now recorded as 12th September 2018  AND 9th December 2018  - so I arrived once and left twice

Not sure whether that will be a problem or not - but for the moment I am (reasonably) happy.

Clever that they know you'll be leaving in two days time

Futher update.

Had a phone call last night from Jennifer in PL's office attempting to placate me that there was nothing to worry about, it is all sorted now and it was all a mistake by US Immigration - yes, right that I believe (not). All was going well until I pointed out that on my I-94 record it shows me as having left the US twice but only arrived the once and that I would not be a happy bunny if I was deported.

Anyway I have a direct contact in PL's office if I have any issues, not sure how I would contact her when they try to deport me!!

Nope - was there earlier in the year.

When did they bring that in as it was not in use in September?

You need an ESTA to arrive in Canada by air. I’m not sure when it started, but in the last couple of years.

However, ESTA is not currently required to arrrive in Canada by sea or land

The information in the link seems to be dated 12th June 2018 …. The Official ETA Site

It was introduced in June / July 2018
But, currently, that only applies if you are entering Canada by air - entering by ship you only need your passport and an entry form.
