Would save a lot of agro if we just stayed. (Had to say that, we're agreeing to much.)

Re: Brexit
I know polls are things to be ignored in this forum, but my mind is boggling about this one. Out of nearly 8000 who responded to a Sky News poll, 26% thought that no deal meant keeping the status quo and staying in the EU!

Re: Brexit
There was an MP on the radio the other day who thought the problems at Land Rover were attributed to Brexit. If they can't get it right what hope for the rest of us?

Re: Brexit
We know MP’s can’t get it right.
Anybody who’s heard the ramblings of Raab, Davis, Johnson and Co will attest to this

Re: Brexit
I find it all completely bizarre. She lost the vote last week by the biggest margin in history. Yet she's still trying to carry on with her deal.
She's either in denial, or running down the clock to 29th March.

The same could be said about those harping on about referendums and wanting assurances that there won't be a no deal.
As far as l am concerned they are a disgrace to their office and deserve a good slapping.
If Theresa even hinted that she was willing to consider other options then we might just as well hoist up the white flag....The lady ain't for changing Jack.
Those within her own party who are arguing for a no deal Brexit would do well to remember what the alternative will be, because they themselves would be out voted by those wanting closer alignment with the EU and you my friend will be living in a country where democracy has failed it's people.

Re: Brexit
I love the phrase crash out.
what you actually mean is leaving the EU without a withdrawal agreement. There is no compulsion to have any withdrawal agreement. The terms of article 50 state that the EU must negotiate with the leaving nation on good faith. The reality is that the EU are still openly saying that they wish us to stay, thus totally ignoring the democratic process. Shame on them and all in the UK doing the same.

Re: Brexit
It's a very solvable problem. The EU concede a time related back stop or the facility for the UK to leave the back stop unilaterally. I think she could sell that to the leavers and get her WA through. They clearly don't seem to care about the damage to Ireland. A very weird attitude in my book. Coming soon. A Eurozone recession.

Yes Barney......l was reading the other day that both France and Germany are on the verge of a cliff edge recession..barney wrote: 21 Jan 2019, 21:23It's a very solvable problem. Re: Brexit
Project Fear is now going into hyper drive. Sky news suggests that nothing will cross the channel for six months. What utter rubbish. Do they think we are that stupid. There is absolutely nothing to stop UK customs waving traffic through. Does anyone really think that every container that arrives from third countries is checked by UK customs. The anti democrats are actually getting hysterical.

Tell us Barney, which news sources do you actually trust?barney wrote: 21 Jan 2019, 22:06Project Fear is now going into hyper drive. Sky news suggests that nothing will cross the channel for six months. What utter rubbish.
True, but they aren't the only ones involved, are they?barney wrote: 21 Jan 2019, 22:06There is absolutely nothing to stop UK customs waving traffic through.
Imagine, the EU, that rules based community, enforcing the rules.
No, a proportion is. But as most of our trade is with the EU, which will become a "third country", that proportion will sky rocket.barney wrote: 21 Jan 2019, 22:06Does anyone really think that every container that arrives from third countries is checked by UK customs.
Just who are you referring to here? The information comes from our Border Force, you can't mean them, surely?

Barney, you should have been in the Diplomatic servicebarney wrote: 31 Oct 2017, 16:46What do others think about the three stooges taking themselves to Brussels to speak to the EU chief negotiator Barnier, on behalf of the UK
So, we had Ken Clarke who should be put out to grass by now. He was a good chancellor in his day, but that day has long passed.
Then Nick Clegg, who was soundly rejected by his constituents but is no doubt hanging around and waiting for another chance to spout his rubbish.
Last but by all means least, Lord Adonis, who has never be elected to a single position in his life.
I suppose it made a change after the roaring success enjoyed by Bojo, Davies and Dr Fox
I suppose the real question is why would Barnier waste his time discussing Brexit with has beens and the never were?
Clegg said that they were there to discuss an alternative view ????
No wonder the EU can't figure out what is going on in the UK.
The PM should immediately withdraw the Tory whip from Clarke and tell Barnier to ignore the other two clowns as they speak for no one.
This country has become a farce in the eyes of others. Why can't these halfwit Remoaner protesters see the damage that they are doing to the UK negotiating stance.
Some lightweight nobody from Finland was on TV today saying that many abroad still think that Brexit won't happen because of idiots like this, spouting opinions as if they are facts.
Such a shame that May won the Tory leadership unopposed.
This country needs a leader at a time like this, and that she ain't, unfortunately.
