Thank goodness I can. I think the installation option is off the menu for now. The most tricky bit, depending on how clear the instructions are, may be fitting the panel that matches our kitchen units. It took a while assisted by Mr Google to remember how to get it off the old one!Manoverboard wrote: 12 May 2020, 09:17I thought you would be able to but some cannot of course so I did wonder if ... etc.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 12 May 2020, 09:00They're taking the old one away. I fitted a Neff D/W a couple of years back and the installation instructions were not too bad, the harder part for me was levelling it up because the original ( read not precisely level ) floor is lower than the Spanish Chinese slate tiles that were subsequently laid but they only went an inch or so behind the kick boards.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 12 May 2020, 09:34Thank goodness I can. We can sort you out a quote if there's anything you need doing.
The second word of the quote is "off"!
I have a similar height issue with a laminate floor I laid a few years back. That needs to be replaced at some point soon, and when it is my lesson is learned. For the sake of buying a couple of extra square metres I will lay the replacement into the spaces where the DW, fridge and freezer sit under the worktop.Manoverboard wrote: 12 May 2020, 09:48I fitted a Neff D/W a couple of years back and the installation instructions were not too bad, the harder part for me was levelling it up because the original ( read not precisely level ) floor is lower than the Spanish Chinese slate tiles that were subsequently laid but they only went an inch or so behind the kick boards.

Listen pal ... me 'n' Merv have considerable experience in installing / modifying and upgrading kitchens with any related appliance and regardless of trade. When I added a third eye level oven to our kitchen, cos of Mobietta’s sciatica at that time, I was only stopped from connecting it all up to the Consumer Unit / circuit breakers cos of some idiotic edict from the EU that said I needed to be certified

I find it difficult to always extract the washing machine easily with soft or laminate floors without damaging the surfaces. To overcome this problem, under the footprint of the machines I lay ceramic floor tiles. This makes pulling the machines forward a lot easier and on to a safe cover to again protect the floor in front of the machines.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
I've now laid some off cuts of spare laminate from another job in the hole which awaits the dishwasher.
I've also been trying to drain the old one of all water as required for collection for recycling. Given that it's terminal problem was leaking onto the floor that has proved absurdly difficult. Despite drilling holes in various parts of its water works, loosening hoses and turning it upside down there is still some trapped somewhere!
p.s. 22 years ago I gutted our kitchen back to a bare shell and retiled and refitted it completely. And did the same with the bathroom.
I reckon if Moby and I got a second hand van we could make a few bob.
