Panic over lads. Just a lingering gum infection. I'm halfway through a course of dental treatment that has been delayed by Covid. My dentist is still learning to use the 2m extensions on his implements.

Well Curry's done good. New dishwasher delivered (free) as promised at 8.30 this morning.
And is now installed by moi and is working on catching up with the week's washing up..
For the experts among us (that means you Moby) installation was a doddle compared to the old one. You can now fit the décor panel without taking anything apart to do so (the old one was a pain), it has three feet rather than four, so levelling is much easier, and the single foot at the back (the back ones were a real ball-ache to reach on the old one) is now adjusted by a hex head nut thingy (sorry for the technical terminology) on the bottom panel at the front.

The old one was a Whirlpool. New one is Hotpoint. Got better on line reviews than a model £200 more expensiveManoverboard wrote: 17 May 2020, 13:14One's decor panel was a doddle to fit onto one's Neff but a bewggar on the Whirlpool that it replaced .... wot did you get ?Mervyn and Trish wrote: 17 May 2020, 12:56Well Curry's done good. Sorry to advise that Hotpoint are not my favourite Brand, I would seriously consider taking out a 5 year Insurance plan.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 17 May 2020, 15:02The old one was a Whirlpool. New one is Hotpoint. Got better on line reviews than a model £200 more expensive
I am also surprised that Trish didn’t insist that you purchased said machine from John Lewis

Did I ever mention that we had a long and interesting chat with yon Desmond aka Tu-Tu ... it was inside his beloved Cathedral in Cape Town albeit many moons ago.

Merv was adjusting the machine using a hex head nut thingy. My, that's too technical for me to follow.

They do. The Whirlpool lasted around 12 years with one new motor\pump assembly 4 years ago. The new one comes with a 10 year parts warranty so I shall mull over whether any extended warranty is worth it for labour only.
It cost £300. The premium brands were £500-£600 so they'd have to last twice as long!

For those who feel this is technically beyond them can I remind them of the cowboy highly qualified exorbitantly priced very reasonable M&M consortium.Stephen wrote: 17 May 2020, 16:28It's like 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' with all dishwasher questions![]()

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Our ' Whirlpool ' dishwasher was on a 5 year parts and labour guarantee but after 3 years it caused the inline circuit breaker to trip repeatedly. Their engineer claimed that the fault lay within the property and refused to meet our claim. Yeah right and up yours I whispered and installed a Neff ... 15 years later it hasn't missed a beat nor indeed has it tripped out.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 17 May 2020, 16:32They do. These new machines do not last like wot the old ones did according to the local Company wot replaced our 18 year old Zanussi Washing Machine.
We also had an integrated Hotpoint Fridge / Freezer, the compressor failed and after trying unsuccessfully to convince me that the air flow around the machine was inadequate they offered me a brand new £650 machine if I paid them £300. I negotiated a £380 1600 stand alone fridge instead and gave it to one of the boys. The refrigeration units were replaced with Neff else Liebherr and these are also still running smoothly.
I truly hope that your machine is the exception to the rule of Moby

Coincidence or what. I woke up this morning to my dishwasher making funny noises.
On further inspection it was only the vacuum cleaner she was using.
