It's very harsh what is happening to those with dementia in care homes. The husband of a lady opposite has had to go into a care home with dementia and although he has only been there a few months already he seems to have forgotten her and his family. It's a cruel disease and understandably she does get upset. Certainly coronavirus does not help.
I wish those who flout the safeguards to promote their personal freedoms took time off to see the effects of the virus on the elderly and their families as well as those who are taken into hospital for the NHS to cope with.

Noble of her to apologise - not. Not only should she have been fined (albeit chicken feed to her) but the restaurant closed down with no recompense for hosting it. I wonder how many of those present will now come down with the virus or pass it on to others.

I had exactly the same thoughts as I watched the report on the news. This may well be one of those times when a fine more proportionate to a person's wealth should be levied.

I agree wholeheartedly. The fine means nothing to her. But if the restaurant was closed down it might focus some other minds in the hospitality industry. And if anybody else at the party gets the virus and dies the restaurant owners should be charged with corporate manslaughter too.

Sorry to hear your sad news Screwy. Although not Covid related my 97 year old mother passed away this afternoon in hospital - she suffered a major stroke two weeks ago and didn’t recover. The doctors were astonished that she had never spent a single night in hospital and was still living on her own. We worked so hard to protect her from Covid and would have been so upset if she had caught it so your anger is so justified Screwy - take care xxx

My sincere condolences Jan. You were the first to pass on your sympathy to me when I lost my wife.5 years ago and encouraged me to carry on cruising. Although approaching 84 years of age I have made many new friends . Your mother sounds like an incredible lady. May she rest in peace.

0h dear. The Daily Wail has been knocking the government over PPE and running its own campaign to source the stuff. Now it's been reported that some of the stuff has come from factories in China employing forced labour. I wonder if they'll have that on the front page tomorrow.

Are there really 313000 unregistered? I thought that most illegals were already seeking asylum here once they were plucked from their sinking boats. Similarly once they are safely out of the back of the lorry don't most of them seek asylum so that while they await approval we get to feed and water them?

I doubt that money alone will secure a jab ahead of your turn. I guess some royalty will be give it, and maybe some politicians, but Everyone else will have to wait their turn
