It's damned if he did and damned if he didn't. That's the trouble with social media, the trolls and keyboard warriors have nothing better to occupy their warped little minds.

Re: Current Affairs
I would ask Matt, , can you give the British public an assurance that the government wont be bullied by the media or its own back benches, into easing the lockdown regulations before science is satisfied that it is safe to do so?Bensham33 wrote: 21 Feb 2021, 13:53I agree with you all about useless pointless questions from journalists both in the papers and TV.
But given the opportunity what question would you ask.

If my father was alive and was 100 years old I would stick two fingers in the air and go see the poor old sod ... well done Charles

As o would I Good on Charles. I wouldn't mind betting that those on social media who are complaining are the very ones that give no regard for lockdown rules and are the very ones breaking them.

There are many who would have liked to visit their father these past few months...Charlie and his entourage should have kept away... even if the old sod is on his last legs.Stephen wrote: 21 Feb 2021, 15:52So Prince Charles travelled two hundred miles to visit his father. Some Twitter bods are up in arms over it calling it double standards. I can see both sides of the argument. What do others think.

A perfectly reasonable visit for the heir to the throne, if he hadn't I can think of some on here that would have criticised him for disloyalty.

I'm not sure that there was any entourage, other than the media, but I have to disagree. The hospital allowed it and bear in mind that it is a private hospital and not NHS and also for a 99 year old that has given his whole life to his adopted country I begrudge him nothing.

I didn’t realise the rules were different between the NHS and private hospitals.

They aren't. But under the rules hospital visiting is at the discretion of the hospital. It is one of the allowable reasons for travel.Stephen wrote: 21 Feb 2021, 19:20I didn’t realise the rules were different between the NHS and private hospitals.

I don’t think many on here would see him as being disloyal had he not visited his father under present circumstances…. with regard to him being disloyal? Absolutely!!towny44 wrote: 21 Feb 2021, 18:21A perfectly reasonable visit for the heir to the throne, if he hadn't I can think of some on here that would have criticised him for disloyalty.

As I understand it the rules are different for nursing homes. But I'm no expert. I only know about the discretion all hospitals have because I read about it recently.

Our next cruise isn't until May 2022 so I'm hoping the experience will be back to close to normal by then. Hoping we might get the UK holiday we've got booked in July.

I think travel outside of one's own County should be restricted until after the second jabs have been done
