I think one would have to isolate in a Hotel on the basis that the Hotels utilised for Covid will presumable not be available for booking by the general public.

Reports coming out say the ship blocking the Suez canal has finally been freed. If true it must have gone better than they thought earlier today.

We still get the silly questions though....
Can you guarantee that we will not have a third lockdown? Errr! Common sense says no I can't. Next!!!

Re: Current Affairs
Words fail me at the crass stupidity of the media questions to BoJo this evening. Has he asked too much of the public? Stupid woman You all know I don't like BoJo, but for goodness sake its a pandemic and people are still dying. BoJo is trying to follow the science. I suppose if you exist on a diet of pizzas and netflix you haven't realised yet that anything is going on in the world. Stupid media, ask something intelligent. I am amazed Chris Whitty hasn't said "how many more times must I tell a media hack this......?" Some silly person has just asked BoJo can he categorically rule out another lock down. Oh dear.
On a lighter note, those very large container ships present a massive sail to the wind, and become very hard to control at low speed. I have steered a ship at sea quite a few times, and the bloomin' things sometimes seem seem to have a mind of their own. The wind has a significant effect, the canal is quite narrow in places and I would not be surprised if some kind of size/ weather restrictions were introduced from time to time. It will be interesting to hear the outcome of any enquiry.

She is so boring, I want crisp precise questions, not a long drawn out question that by the end I have totally forgotten where she started.oldbluefox wrote: 29 Mar 2021, 17:38She certainly seemed a good deal more subdued than she has been.screwy wrote: 29 Mar 2021, 17:25Is it just me or does anyone else think Beth Rigby is not as abrasive since she got caught.

I see that the latest vaccine likely to be approved is to produced in the UK, at a plant in Barnard Castle.
So now we know. Dom wasn't breaking the rules. He was negotiating a new contract.

We are awaiting our second jab but have been informed, via the surgery website, that we will be having the AZ jab as before and in the same location as the first ... ten weeks after the first which is anytime now

Not altogether unexpected - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-n ... e-56575135. I wonder how many more such instances there have been that have not hit the news yet?
My guess is that the next phase of lockdown will go ahead as planned but either one or both of the the next two will get pushed back as a "wake up call" that it is not all over and people have to behave.

The amount of litter the scum bags left behind as well. Disgraceful.
And as usual the police are slow to act. It was hardly a gathering of a few people.

Re: Current Affairs
We have ours booked for mid April at the original venue.
I tried 119 to see if I could change it to the JS Stadium, which has a flat and level access more suitable for a wheel chair than the steep incline in Halifax, but they could not guarantee the venue and I would have to cancel and lose the original ones before I could rebook. Not a very flexible operation
