An independent adviser on Ministerial interests say No conflict of interest in donations for Downing st flat refurbishment.

Also, Hancock guilty of ‘Minor’ breach of Ministerial code.

I’m sure some will dismiss it as a cover up..

If it's seen as a good result that Johnson was found to have acted unwisely in allowing work to begin on his flat without knowing how it would be paid, then we really are in a VERY strange place

Gill, he has an 81 seat majority and is literally untouchable ...... for now.
There is another by-election looming and they may well increase that majority.
Unfortunately, Labour have picked a candidate who wasn’t even a Labour member until chosen.
That’s going to go down well with the Labour voters.
All anyone can do is accept it is what it is, and like Trump, his luck will run out or he’ll get bored with the whole thing.

It's time to cut him some slack. He didn't break the rules. There's nothing in the ministerial codes to say the Prime Minister has to micro manage his household affairs. I'd say given the choice between Brexit, Covid and wallpaper he made the right choices and left the details of the refurbishment to oithers. Or do we also expect him to do his own on line Sainsburys order and ironing?

What do we think of Matt Hancock’s body language last night at the press conference.

Looked like he was sweaty, ruffled, uncomfortable - the body language of somebody who is desperate to avoid answering a straight question.

If he’s in that state after 20 minutes of questions with yes woman Jenny Harries to back him up, God knows what he’ll be like after hours of sustained questions in the committee room!
